EEA/EU Family Visa

Documents Required

All documents listed below are mandatory. Each applicant must submit their own set of documents.
Important: Most documents required for your visa application must be recent and dated within the last 30 days at the time of submission. Ensure all paperwork meets this requirement to avoid delays or rejection.

Application Form

• Completed and signed Schengen visa application form (in English or Swedish)

Photograph

• One recent passport-sized colour photo (not older than 3-6 months)

Passport

• Valid passport or travel document
• Must be valid for at least 3 months beyond the intended departure from the Schengen Area
• Must contain at least two blank pages
• Copy of the passport’s biodata page

UK Residency

• Provide a UK eVisa printout from UKVI with a valid share code

Travel Medical Insurance

• Valid for all Schengen countries
• Minimum coverage of 30,000 EUR
• Must cover medical emergencies, hospital care, and repatriation
• Must cover the full duration of your stay

Proof of Travel

• Confirmed return travel booking to the UK
• If travelling onward, proof of entry to the next destination country (e.g. valid visa, onward ticket)

Proof of Accommodation

• Hotel booking or other confirmation of accommodation for the full duration of stay
• Alternatively, sponsorship documents confirming accommodation arrangements

Proof of Finance

• UK bank statements for the last 3 months showing your name and current balance
• OR credit card statement showing the credit limit
• If supported by someone else:
  • Marriage certificate or birth certificate (as applicable)
  • Sponsor’s bank statements (last 3 months)
  • Signed declaration of financial support

Proof of Employment (if applicable)

(Documents must be recent and dated within the last 30 days at the time of submission.)

For employed applicants

• Recent signed employer letter including position, salary, company details, and registration number
• Payslips for the last 3 months

For self-employed applicants

• Recent signed letter from an accountant, solicitor or banker
• Must include business nature, income, and registration number
• Self-assessment tax return

For unemployed / pensioners / others

• Relevant documentation showing regular income or ties to the UK

Business Purpose Documents

• Invitation letter from a company or authority in Sweden stating the purpose of the visit
• Conference or trade fair registration (if applicable)
• Supporting documents that confirm existing trade relations or professional connections
• Entry tickets, programme schedules, or letters of intent (where relevant)

Photo Specifications

• Full face, directly facing the camera, with a neutral expression and eyes clearly visible
• Taken against a plain, light-coloured background (preferably white or light grey)
• The image must be sharp, in focus, and not digitally altered
• Head coverings are not permitted, except for religious reasons; in such cases, facial features must be fully visible from the bottom of the chin to the top of the forehead, and from ear to ear
• The photo must not contain any shadows, red-eye, or reflections
• Glasses are permitted if they do not obstruct the eyes or cause glare; tinted or dark glasses are not acceptable unless medically required
• The photo must not be more than 6 months old and must clearly resemble the applicant at the time of submission
• Size should be approximately 35mm x 45mm (standard EU/Schengen size)
• Only required for applicants under the age of 12, or for those who have not submitted biometrics for a Schengen visa in the last 59 months
