EEA/EU Family Visa

Documents Required

Application Form and Passport

• Completed Schengen Visa Application Form
• Valid passport with at least two blank pages

The visa cannot be granted for a period longer than the validity of your passport.

Proof of Relationship

• Marriage certificate (for spouses)
• Birth certificate (for children or dependent parents)
• Proof of shared residence for unmarried partners (e.g., tenancy agreement, utility bills, population registration certificate)

EU/EEA Family Member’s Documents

• Copy of the EU/EEA citizen’s passport or national ID card
• Proof that the EU/EEA family member is exercising free movement in Sweden (e.g., employment contract, proof of study, or proof of sufficient funds)

Proof of Dependency (if applicable)

• Financial documents or remittance records showing that the applicant is dependent on the EU/EEA citizen
• Medical records if dependency is due to health reasons

 Proof of Travel

• Travel itinerary showing your planned dates of entry and exit from the Schengen area
• If applicable, joint travel bookings with your EU/EEA family member

Proof of Accommodation

• Hotel reservation or invitation letter from the family member with address details
• If staying with the EU/EEA family member, include evidence of their residence in Sweden (e.g., rental contract or property deed)

UK Residency

• Provide a UK eVisa printout from UKVI with a valid share code

Additional Notes

• No visa fee is charged for applicants falling under Directive 2004/38/EC
• Translations must be provided if documents are not in English or Swedish. Attach both original and certified translated copies
• It is strongly recommended to have valid travel insurance, even though it is not mandatory under the Directive

Photo Specifications

• Full face, directly facing the camera, with a neutral expression and eyes clearly visible
• Taken against a plain, light-coloured background (preferably white or light grey)
• The image must be sharp, in focus, and not digitally altered
• Head coverings are not permitted, except for religious reasons; in such cases, facial features must be fully visible from the bottom of the chin to the top of the forehead, and from ear to ear
• The photo must not contain any shadows, red-eye, or reflections
• Glasses are permitted if they do not obstruct the eyes or cause glare; tinted or dark glasses are not acceptable unless medically required
• The photo must not be more than 6 months old and must clearly resemble the applicant at the time of submission
• Size should be approximately 35mm x 45mm (standard EU/Schengen size)
• Only required for applicants under the age of 12, or for those who have not submitted biometrics for a Schengen visa in the last 59 months
