Tourist Visa

Documents Required

All documents listed below are mandatory. Each applicant must submit their own set of documents.

Important: Most documents required for your visa application must be recent and dated within the last 30 days at the time of submission. Ensure all paperwork meets this requirement to avoid delays or rejection.

Application Form

• Completed and signed Schengen visa application form (in English or Swedish)

Photograph

• One recent passport-sized colour photo (not older than 3-6 months)

Passport

• Valid passport or travel document
• Must be valid for at least 3 months after your intended departure from the Schengen Area
• Must contain at least two blank pages
• Copy of the passport’s biodata page

UK Residency

• Provide a UK eVisa printout from UKVI with a valid share code

Travel Medical Insurance

• Insurance covering the full duration of stay in the Schengen Area
• Must be valid in all Schengen countries
• Minimum coverage of 30,000 EUR for emergency medical care and repatriation

Proof of Travel

• Return flight reservation to the UK or proof of onward travel
• If applicable, proof of entry to the destination country outside the UK (e.g. visa, ticket)

Proof of Accommodation

• Confirmed hotel booking covering the entire stay
• Alternatively, completed and signed invitation form (“Invitation – Before application for a Schengen visa”) with supporting documents

Additional Requirements Based on Purpose of Visit

Tourism

• Hotel booking for the entire stay
• OR tour confirmation / itinerary
• OR proof of means to cover accommodation

Family / Friend Visit

• Copy of host’s passport or national ID
• If applicable, copy of host’s residence permit in Sweden
• Proof of relationship (e.g. birth or marriage certificate)
• Completed and signed invitation form with supporting documents

Proof of Finance

• UK bank statements for the last 3 months showing balance and name
• OR credit card statement including name, address, and spending limit
• If financially supported by a spouse or parent:
  • Marriage certificate or birth certificate (as applicable)
  • Sponsor’s bank statements (last 3 months)
  • Written declaration of financial support

Proof of Employment (if applicable)

(Documents must be recent and dated within the last 30 days at the time of submission.)

For employed applicants

• Recent signed letter from employer (including position, salary, contact info, and company registration number)
• Payslips for the last 3 months

For self-employed applicants

• Recent signed letter from an accountant, solicitor or banker confirming self-employment
• Must include business nature, registration number, and income
• Self-assessment tax form

For students

• Recent signed letter from your UK school, college, or university
• Must state type of studies, weekly hours, attendance record

For unemployed / pensioners / others

• Any proof of establishment in the UK, such as family ties or regular income

Additional Requirements for Minors (under 18)

• Birth certificate
• British school certificate
• Consent letter from both parents or legal guardians
• Copies of parents’ passports (original or certified copy of biodata page)
• If one parent has sole custody, provide relevant proof (birth certificate, death certificate, or court ruling)

Photo Specifications

• Full face, directly facing the camera, with a neutral expression and eyes clearly visible
• Taken against a plain, light-coloured background (preferably white or light grey)
• The image must be sharp, in focus, and not digitally altered
• Head coverings are not permitted, except for religious reasons; in such cases, facial features must be fully visible from the bottom of the chin to the top of the forehead, and from ear to ear
• The photo must not contain any shadows, red-eye, or reflections
• Glasses are permitted if they do not obstruct the eyes or cause glare; tinted or dark glasses are not acceptable unless medically required
• The photo must not be more than 6 months old and must clearly resemble the applicant at the time of submission
• Size should be approximately 35mm x 45mm (standard EU/Schengen size)
• Only required for applicants under the age of 12, or for those who have not submitted biometrics for a Schengen visa in the last 59 months
