How It Works

• Book Your Appointment:
  • Schedule an appointment at the appropriate Embassy, Consulate General, or Honorary Consul’s office.
• Prepare Your Documents:
  • Use our detailed checklist to gather all required documents.
• Attend Your Appointment:
  • Present yourself in person for identification, biometric data capture, and document verification.
• Processing & Delivery:
  • Your application is processed by the relevant authorities. Once approved, your new passport or ID card is sent to you by courier.
• Ongoing Support:
  • We provide continuous support and updates throughout the process.

Documents Required

Please note that all documents must be original or certified copies.

• Completed Application Forms:
  • Verification of Swedish Citizenship form.
  • Guardian Consent form (for applicants under 18).
• Valid Identification:
  • Current Swedish or British passport.
  • National Swedish ID card.
  • Swedish or British driver’s license (full or provisional).
• Proof of Citizenship:
  • For dual citizens: Documentation confirming how and when additional citizenships were acquired.
• Additional Documents:
  • Birth certificate showing both parents’ names (if you have never lived in Sweden).
  • Residence permit or proof of settled status in the UK (if applicable).
  • Police report (if your previous passport was lost or stolen).

Important Information

• Appointment Booking: All passport applications require a pre-scheduled appointment. Walk-ins are not accepted.
• Processing Time: Once submitted, passport applications typically take about three weeks to process. Plan accordingly to avoid travel disruptions.
• Collection: Passports can be collected in person at the Embassy in London or at designated consulates in Belfast, Edinburgh, or Gibraltar. Specify your preferred collection point during the application process.
• Fees: Application fees are payable at the time of your appointment. Accepted payment methods include card payments (excluding American Express and Diners Club).
